He has been the Chairman of the Indian Advisory Board of Room to Read, a global education charity. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Bhartiya Yuva Shakti Trust, which works to promote rural entrepreneurship in India. He is a Board member of the Centre for Social and Economic Progress, a leading Indian think tank. He is an op-ed contributor to The Economic Times, The Times of India and Financial Times.
